Cricket Wireless aimed to attract and keep more customers to its month-to-month cell phone service by offering music. Muve Music is the first music download service which is included as part of a cell phone rate plan at no extra charge. Subscribers get an unlimited catalog of millions of songs they can download to their phone.

Cricket Wireless wanted to grow their subscribers. The company noticed a very engaged subscriber base that used its ringtone service and decided to offer a way to listen to music, attracting those who did not own a computer and relied on their phone for everything. Company went to build Muve Music, a mobile service integrated to subscriber smartphones with a flat-rate plan that bundles unlimited service with unlimited music listening.

Muve Music grew to 3.5M+ subscribers in 2014 and the service penetrated 77% of total Cricket Wireless subscriber base. ARPU increased by $4.00+ YoY due to adoption of Move Music devices and related service plans. Muve Music was sold to Deezer Music in 2015 for under $100M.
